Stephen Paddock, 64, opened fire on a country music festival Sunday night from his room at the Mandalay Bay hotel. The Washington Post reported that police are “not treating the tragedy as terrorism.”
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday “it would be premature to weigh in” on whether the shooting would be considered domestic terrorism, according to the Post.

Singer Jason Aldean, who was performing at the time of the Las Vegas shooting, released a statement via Instagram. He said the night was “beyond horrific.”
“It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night,” Aldean wrote.
