Rihanna definitely has a point.
Recently, when Twitter user @lbertootero told the Work singer she should hire a transgender woman for her next Fenty Beauty campaign, the musician wrote back with an extremely eloquent response.
While the 29-year-old has “had the pleasure of working with many gifted trans women over the years,” she doesn’t “go around doing trans castings” to avoid tokenism.

The Barbados-native adds:
“I don’t think it’s fair that a trans woman, or man, be used as a convenient marketing tool. Too often I see companies doing this to trans and black women alike. There’s always just that one spot in the campaign for the token ‘we look mad diverse’ girl/guy! It’s sad!”‘
On Wednesday, the fan posted the exchange on Twitter, and it has already received over 1500 likes.

As a trans woman I have so much admiration and respect for Rihanna. She worded all of that so perfectly and respectful and kind. She’s a true angel
